DHInfrastructure, an economic consulting firm based in Massachusetts, is looking to hire managers for its international development practices in the energy and water sectors. This is a position for someone with an advanced degree and at least 5 years’ experience working in consulting or a similar analytical capacity in the energy and/or water sectors. Experience working on and managing energy and water sector technical assistance projects with development finance institutions (e.g., World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Millennium Challenge Corporation or USAID) is desirable but not essential.
Managers are expected to:
• Identify areas of analysis needed and be able to delegate and explain those clearly
• Decide on methods of analysis required and direct other staff on how to implement them
• Help troubleshoot research and analytical work of other staff and sub-consultants as needed
• Coach other team members on analytical techniques, how to structure documents logically, writing styles and client management
• Be able to write solid drafts of all portions of proposals. Be able to draft methodologies with direction of more senior staff.
• Interact frequently with clients on substantive technical matters, by email or phone.
• Undertake trips to client sites (as COVID-19 pandemic travel permits) for data collection, training, and meetings.
• Be able to answer most technical questions posed by clients on deliverables.
• Coach other team members on email protocols and client management
• Mastery of DHInfrastructure in-house writing style and style guide
• Develop trusted working relationships with repeat clients.

Location is flexible, with the possibility of working out of one of our of Massachusetts offices (Northampton and Worcester) or working from a location of the individual’s choosing (including home office), with periodic trips to Massachusetts.
Successful applicants will:
• Have a master’s degree in a relevant field (economics, math, public policy, government, etc.)
• Have at least 5 years hands-on experience in the energy and/or water sectors
• Have exceptional writing and oral communication skills
• Have a track record of managing projects in a way that delivers high levels of client satisfaction and attracts repeat client engagement
