The World Bank wanted to prepare a strategy for scaling up renewable energy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Service Provided
DHInfrastructure reviewed prior work, including cost of service studies, prefeasibility studies, and the national energy sector master plan, in consultation with key stakeholders to confirm the technical and economic potential for solar, wind, and mini-hydro technology and validate the indicative planning methodology used for site prioritization based on estimated yield, proximity to demand, grid constraints, and local risk assessments. We also assessed gaps in institutional and technical capacity that need to be addressed to enable renewable energy development. Finally, we recommended financing mechanisms to be used for the scaling up of renewables.
