DHInfrastructure assessed the technical feasibility and financial viability of a rural electricity company in Madhya Pradesh. We reviewed and analyzed generation and other technical data from state-owned power plants, independent power plants contracted by the state, and central power plants that serve Madhya Pradesh. We reviewed the daily, seasonal, and peak demand profiles of the state to assess the adequacy of generation capacity and power purchase agreements to meet demand. We estimated daily energy consumption and peak agricultural demand by analyzing agricultural and rainfall data. We ultimately identified an optimal allocation mix that would provide adequate generation capacity for rural agricultural, domestic, and commercial consumers.
